Automatic Configuration: Send SMS to 131
To request automatic internet settings sent directly to your phone:
- Open your phone’s default text messaging application.
- Create a new message with the text “Internet”.
- Send the SMS to the shortcode 131.
- Telenor will send automatic configuration settings profiles to your device.
- Open the configuration profile message and select “Install” or “Save”.
- If prompted for a security PIN during profile installation, enter 0000.
Mobile APN Configuration: Android vs. iPhone
If automatic settings fail to install, you can configure your APN parameters manually. Note that menu names and settings paths may vary depending on your device manufacturer, Android version, or iOS software version. On general Android devices, the configuration path is typically Settings > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names. On general Apple iOS devices, navigate to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options. If you have saved your APN settings but the internet remains slow or shows an “E” (Edge) or “2G/3G” indicator, check your preferred network type. Go to your phone’s cellular network configuration menu and ensure the preferred network type is set to auto-connect to 4G/LTE modes. Toggling your phone’s Airplane mode can also refresh base station registrations.
